Renaissance Golf…
This is where it all began, as an intern for Renaissance Golf Design at the Old Macdonald Golf Links. I came onto the project in the second phase of construction in February of 2009, the first 10 holes had been built the previous winter and I came to help finish the golf course. I worked maintanence during normal hours and joined the shapers and associates after I was clocked out. We raked the entire golf course by hand before applying a slurry of hydroseed and tackifier to get the fescue started. It was hard work, but very rewarding! My experience working with the Renaissance team was truly formative to how I think about the design and construction of golf courses and I couldn’t have asked for a better situation to learn and be a part of a great team. In 2010 Golf Digest awarded Old Macdonald the honor of best new course.
