Sebasco Harbor Resort
Sebasco, Maine
Going solo in summerland…
The Sebasco Harbor Resort is a place lost in time, complete with a 9 hole golf course, the oldest duck pin bowling alley in New England, endless summertime clam bakes, and a three hole par 3 practice course. The course built in the summer of 2o21 is the first solo design by Stein Golf Design and features 2 different teeing grounds on each hole with multiple pin locations. Owner and developer Bob Smith hired Jeffrey on a recommendation from his work with the Castine Golf Club, further to the North but still in Maine. The course was built on a modest budget upon a tract of land fronting the old ice pond, where ice was cut, packaged and shipped to Boston before the days of refrigeration. With beginners and juniors in mind the course can be played multiple times by resort guests for no charge.
I will always be thankful to Bob Smith for the opportunity.
