I grew up caddying at this Devereux Emmet designed golf club and made many lasting relationships with the members on all the early weekend mornings I woke up to go to work. This quality of the layout and the superior course conditions certainly made a lasting impression on me as I considered my future career as a golf course architect. Over the years I also stayed in touch with the golf course superintendent Bob Nielsen through our local golf course association. In 2022, Bob came calling to assist the club in the construction of their practice putting green which was designed by the club’s consulting architect John Harvey. The project was a success and I hope to be invited back to perform future golf course improvements.
